I’m Jewelz Melody, the Bayou City Songbird ,an Indie Neo-Soul R&B Storyteller from Houston, Texas.
Born a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), my first language was sign language, so I grew up understanding that music isn’t just something you hear , it’s something you see and feel. That’s why my performances are as visual as they are sonic: storytelling through movement, expression, and sound.
I carry the heart of a Latina with Creole and Cajun roots, and I weave those histories into my music. You’ll hear the intimacy of ’90s R&B, the romance of mariachi and Latin ballads, the grit of blues, and the spiritual echoes of my religion and honoring songs.
Every song begins in my notebook , which is my spell book ,and becomes a ceremony on stage: music as confession, spell, and salvation. My shows are stripped down, intimate, and deeply personal, whether I’m singing about love, resilience, or casting away negativity in a “blue bottle” spell.
